Lyon College seeks qualified candidates for a tenure-track position as Assistant
or Associate Professor in Mathematics beginning in August of 2013. Applicants
should have a Ph.D. in mathematics with a specialization in applied mathematics;
candidates who are ABD will be given serious consideration. The primary
requirement is excellence in teaching, but research potential is also important.
Successful applicants will be able to teach a broad range of undergraduate
mathematics classes. Additional responsibilities will include advising students
and participating in college governance and service. Demonstrated interest or
prior experience in a liberal arts college is desirable. Lyon College is a
USN&WR top tier national liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.). It is located in the foothills of the Ozarks in Batesville,
Arkansas, a safe and convenient town of 10,000 that serves as commercial,
medical, social, and governmental hub for an eight-county area. The College
enrolls approximately 600 students from twenty-five states and eleven foreign
countries on its picturesque 136-acre campus. Entering freshmen have an average
