Standard Bank Jobs: Quantitative Modelling Vacancies Division Proposition


Here, youll test your mathematical and statistical skills on a variety of
projects involving financial model development and validation, and risk. Strong
quantitative skills are essential in enabling us to understand, monitor and
reduce risk in our global business. Our internal auditors collaborate with all
levels of management on risk to ensure we have adequate risk controls in place
and that our processes are effective so we can meet our organisational
objectives. Job Description On this 24 month programme youll experience a
variety of business areas that deal with financial models and risk through a
series of six month rotations though some of the following areas; Model
development, Model validation, Market Risk, Internal Audit, Financial Crime
Control, Treasury capital Management and Operational Risk. These rotation will
span across Corporate and Investment banking, Personal and Business Banking and
Group Enabling Functions. Using your mathematical and statistical skills in a
stimulating and challenging environment, youll enjoy the opportunity to develop
your talents in a variety of areas that deal with financial models and risk.
Youll also develop your experience of whilst working on live projects within
these areas.


Required Skills and Qualifications Youll need to be a South African citizen or
have your permanent residence with a Bachelors degree with quantitative
analysis, maths, statistics and/or financial management as a major. As well as
educational qualifications, well be looking for you to show us an analytical
approach, an eye for detail and the adaptability to work in multi-skilled teams.
Naturally, youll need to be a good communicator, with the character to remain
rational and objective while working under pressure. As well as experience of
using MS Office, youll ideally have the ability to code in SAS and Visual Basic.
